The Power Behind Your Power

As April arrives, it brings with it the showers that produce spring flowers. It also marks the beginning of a potentially stormy season that can cause power outages. While Nolin strives to provide reliable electricity to our members, there are times when Mother Nature has other plans.

Plugging in to Electric Vehicles

There was a time when most of us regarded the idea of driving an electric car to be about as likely as traveling in George Jetson’s flying saucer. But no more.

Tax Reform has no Impact on Nolin RECC

The tax status of electric co-ops remains unchanged by the recent tax reform legislation.

Energizing ALL generations

As we read about opportunities and leadership at Kentucky colleges and universities in this month’s issue of Kentucky Living, we are reminded of the importance of education in the communities we serve.

Powering Communities and Empowering Members

A new year is the time when many of us think about where we want to go and how best to get there.  Nolin RECC’s values have always provided an excellent road map to direct our mission to make life better for members.

That purpose has guided us for 80 years (this year marks Nolin’s 80th Anniversary) and provides a firm foundation that we intend to build upon in 2018 and well into the future. As a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, we intend to pursue this mission while adhering to four core values:

Working the Santa Shift

You may not know it, but we have employees who work Santa’s shift each year to make sure your Christmas stays bright.

Although our cooperative offices will be closed on December 25 and 26, some employees will report for duty—or be on

Giving Back, All Year Long

November and December are known as “the season of giving.” Filled with the holiday spirit, people often give generously during this time of the year.

At Nolin RECC, though, we believe every day is an opportunity to give because concern for local communities is one of our highest priorities. Providing safe, affordable, and reliable electricity will always be our mission, but we also want to make life better in the counties we serve.

Taking Care of Our Future

What an exciting feeling it must be for five local teens to see their faces on the cover of this month’s Kentucky Living magazine! These bright and ambitious students are your 2017 Nolin RECC Washington Youth Tour delegates and they competed with other local youth to earn a trip in June to Washington, D.C., for the 53rd Annual Electric Cooperative Youth Tour.

Rate Increase Topic at Annual Meeting

Heavy rain and fierce winds welcomed the 79th Nolin RECC annual meeting just about the time member registration opened at John Hardin High School on June 23. Although attendance was down, we still registered 705 members and the meeting was a success with an estimated crowd of 2,500.
