Your Neighbor, Your Energy

Nolin RECC is your neighbor in every sense of the word. We’re not only your neighbor because you live in one of the nine counties we serve, we are also neighbors because we share a common purpose and interest, to improve the quality of life in this place we call home.

And, Nolin RECC is in a great position to serve our home area from Radcliff to Magnolia because we are a cooperative. Cooperatives—by their very nature—are uniquely suited to understand their own local community. Nolin was built by, belongs to and is led by people in our communities.

Be careful: The safe way is the best way

May is Electrical Safety Month. Because safety is discussed so frequently due to its importance, we can sometimes take it for granted. For as long as I can remember, each time I have a conversation with my grandfather we conclude the discussion with him reminding me to “be careful.” I always respond that “I will.” To which he would reiterate that I be “double careful.” I don’t think that I was able to fully grasp what he meant until I became a parent. Now that I am responsible for a workforce in an inherently dangerous field, this has taken on an even greater meaning for me.

Celebrating Earth Day all year

In recognition of Earth Day on April 22, I want to highlight some of the ways Nolin is working to most efficiently use its resources and be good stewards of the environment. We have many employees who share a desire to conserve resources and reduce waste, but a few have gone above and beyond to make sure that we get the most out of our efforts.

The Value of Our Employees

In March, we celebrate Employee Appreciation Day. With that in mind, I want to recognize those who work hard for our members all year.

New Year, New Beginnings

As we wrap up the holiday season, we close one chapter and another begins. This is my first time writing to you, as I officially assume the position of president and CEO on January 7, when my predecessor Mickey Miller retires. Congratulations Mickey and thanks for your years of service. We wish you well in your future endeavors.
