The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans to widen St John Rd in Elizabethtown between the Bypass and Ring Road to add a center turn lane, along with curb and gutter, a sidewalk (on the south side), and a multi-use path (on the north side).
Nolin has recently been relocating poles and lines in preparation for this project. Residents driving along St John Road in this area will see all the work being done. The first step was to put up new poles and lines on the south side of the road, then the old ones on the north side are being taken down. This is a big effort for Nolin crews!
Bradley Bottoms, KYTC Project Branch Manager, says that they hope the road construction part of the project will begin in late summer of 2022 pending the Kentucky General Assembly allocating funds. Once started, the road project is expected to take over a year to complete.
