District 1 – Business Spotlight: TNT Construction, Inc and 3T Farms in Rineyville, KY
John Taylor, owner
John Taylor owns and operates TNT Construction Inc. which specializes primarily in utility construction for cable TV, phone, electrical, gas and water utilities. TNT serves as a contractor to many utility companies in the area including Nolin RECC.
TNT Construction, Inc. was founded in 1996 by John and his partner (and cousin) Dale Taylor in their hometown of Rineyville, KY. John worked at a cable company at the time and he and Dale decided to bid on a trencher they found for sale. They paid $326 for the trencher to start their business which got off the ground quickly. The business was busy from the beginning and John never went back to the cable company. Dale sadly passed away three years ago.
In 2006, John also went into the cattle business with cousins Jason Taylor and Phillip Taylor. 3T Farms raises and sells registered Gelbvieh and Balancer cattle and employs a unique form of surrogate breeding.
TNT Construction, Inc. has grown from one trencher on Berrytown Road (where John was born and raised) to a thriving company with 8 employees and an office located at 52 Sage Ct in Rineyville. John and his company have worked on projects from Miami, FL to Columbus, OH and many places in between.
John says that something that sets TNT apart is their standard of doing good work for a good price. He also prides himself and his company on great customer service, trying to make sure each customer is satisfied with the work they do. In addition, John says his company’s directional boring machine is a piece of equipment that sets them apart from many others in the industry.
