Co-op Careers – Information Technology

David Cox, Vice-President, Information Technology

How long you have held this role, any previous roles within Nolin:  

VP Information Technology since February 2019

IT Manager Jan 2008 to February 2019

Engineering Technician May 1995 to Jan 2008

Primary responsibilities:

Develop and manage technological infrastructure, critical information systems, and data systems.  Research new technologies and opportunities for process and system improvements.  Develop and maintain a cyber security progam.  Develop and maintain IT policies and procedures.  Lead the IT department.

How does your role fit into the organizational structure: 

I report to the CEO.  I attend Board meetings and Staff meetings.  IT is essential to all employees, therefore IT is tightly integrated in all aspects of the Cooperative.

  • Adam Chadbourne: Senior Information Systems Administrator
  • Stuart Gross: Information Systems Technician
  • Dillian Willis: Information Systems Administrator

Knowledge, skills, abilities needed for your role:

Work effectively in a team environment and think independently, effectively communicate IT related information to employees and the Board of Directors, ability and willingness to self-educate

Education needed for your role:

Advanced degree in Information Technology related field

Most challenging part of your job: 

Cyber security and compliance to IT standards is the most challenging part of my job.

Your favorite part of the job: 

Being a part of the Cooperative family.  Knowing that I play a role in serving our members.  Being a cooperative member myself, it’s good to know our employees care about the members.
