Sharing what we learn
Education is a core principle of all cooperatives. From the time that electric cooperatives were first formed in the late 1930’s, we have helped to educate our members about technology that uses electricity such as appliances and farm machinery. Before these kinds of innovations were common in rural homes and farms, co-ops were helping our members understand how to use items such as electric stoves and livestock feeders. In more recent years, we have explored the use of smart technology such as programmable thermostats in homes.
In that same spirit, we have added an electric vehicle to our Nolin fleet to help members learn more about EV ownership and regular use. This blog is not an endorsement of EV ownership, it is a tool for our members to use. We offer our real-life experience here to help members gather information about a technology that may be of interest. We encourage our members to send us questions at comments@nolinrecc.com if there is a particular area of EV use that you want to know more about.
